The Salt Lake City Sports Complex outdoor pool has eliminated all weekday recreational swimming activities, according to an announcement from Salt Lake County. Effective Monday, Aug. 16, 2026, the facility no longer offers free swim, lap swim, or splash and swim programs during the work week.
New Weekend Schedule
Under the new schedule implemented on Aug. 16, 2026, recreational swimming is restricted exclusively to weekend hours. The facility now hosts its only recreational swimming sessions during established free swim periods on the weekend.
Weekend Operating Hours
According to Salt Lake County, the available weekend hours for recreational swimming are as follows: Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. These sessions represent the only remaining opportunities for public recreational water activities at the outdoor pool facility.
Changes to Programming
The shift in operations marks a departure from previous programming that included various weekday options. Prior to the Aug. 16, 2026, changes, the outdoor pool offered several types of weekday engagement, including free swim and specialized splash and swim programs.
