Mountain Land Design has joined Kodiak Interiors Group following an acquisition announced on August 16. The move is intended to help the independent appliance and interiors business grow while remaining locally led.
The acquisition of Mountain Land Design expands the presence of Kodiak Interiors Group in the Mountain West. Mountain Land Design, which serves Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, will collaborate with other operating companies in the KIG network to share capabilities and best practices.
Kodiak Interiors Group CEO Jeff Smith stated that the MLD leadership team has built a successful business with a strong reputation for customer and employee care. Smith noted that the acquisition provides access to long-term growth markets that complement existing operations in Colorado and the Pacific Northwest.
Mountain Land Design president Dan Devenport said the partnership allows the company to grow into new markets without losing its core identity. The company, which was founded in 1987 as a boutique showroom in Park City, Utah, will continue its day-to-day operations without significant change for customers, contractors, and manufacturer partners.
With this addition, Kodiak Interiors Group includes six operating companies serving customers across nine states.
Mountain Land Design operates showrooms in Salt Lake City, Cedar City, Provo, Ketchum, Boise, and Jackson. The company provides appliances, plumbing, and hardware products at various price points.
