The State of Utah and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management implemented Stage 2 Fire Restrictions on state and federally managed lands across Utah, according to a notice posted to the Kaysville city website.
Vegetation across Utah is exceptionally dry, creating a situation where a single spark can quickly become a fast-moving wildfire.
Under the Stage 2 restrictions, all open fires and charcoal grills are prohibited, which includes campfires. There are limited exceptions for certain propane-fueled cooking devices and appliances.
These restrictions do not apply to private property located within city or county limits.
