Clinton Elementary reported a successful start to the school year, noting that teachers, staff, and administrators have enjoyed seeing both returning and new students. The school expressed appreciation for parents and families helping to maintain safe and orderly drop-off and pick-up procedures.
The school outlined several upcoming activities and requirements for families. During the week of August 24, administration was scheduled to present District Safe School and Welcome and Belonging trainings to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. A preschool orientation was scheduled for August 31.
On September 1, the PTA was scheduled to sponsor a free Classic Skate Night in Layton from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Other scheduled dates include the first day of preschool on August 8 or 9, Green Ribbon Week from September 21-25, and a Safe Routes to School Assembly on September 25. Parent Teacher Conferences were scheduled for September 23-24 with an early out schedule.
Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade were scheduled to participate in Beginning-of-Year Acadience Reading assessments over a three-week period. Additionally, students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade were scheduled to participate in Beginning-of-Year Acadience Math assessments.
The school reminded parents to update demographic or emergency contact information with the office. Clinton Elementary also highlighted Spirit Wear Fridays, encouraging students to wear school colors or Clinton shirts. The school's vision focuses on treating others with respect to achieve student safety and success.
