Shoreline Middle School released a weekly news update on September 4 outlining various upcoming activities and school policies for September 2026.
Important dates for the month include no school on Monday, September 7, for Labor Day. On Tuesday, September 8, a meeting for parents of students cast in the fall play will be held, with entry through the Auditorium doors.
Several student and family events are scheduled for the remainder of the month. On Friday, September 11, Principal Hirschi will host pancakes for students with August and September birthdays following 1st period attendance. Bike to School Week is scheduled for September 14–18.
Parent Teacher Conferences will take place on Wednesday, September 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Shoreline will be closed from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. that day to prepare for the event. Other scheduled dates include Picture Retake Day on Wednesday, September 23, and a Shoreline PTA Spirit Night at Freddy's Steakburger on Thursday, September 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The school reminded families of safety and attendance procedures. Shoreline utilizes the RAPTOR electronic identification system for visitors, and a government-issued ID is required for anyone accessing the building or checking out a student. The process may take up to 15 minutes.
For absences, parents must contact the school within one week via phone at 801-374-4980, email at smsattendance@provo.edu, or by submitting a doctor's note to the Attendance Office. Attendance Secretary Veronica Peterson assists with these requests.
Shoreline remains a closed campus. Students must be checked out by a legal parent, guardian, or emergency contact listed in PowerSchool. Commercial food deliveries are not permitted, though parents may drop food off at the office for their student.
Questions regarding student grades or missing assignments should be directed to teachers or school counselors. A calendar magnet with important dates will be sent home with students.
