The first Monster Energy Big 12 Football weekly awards for the 2026 season were announced Monday, following the conclusion of week one. Arizona State, BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, Iowa State, and West Virginia each had players recognized in the inaugural honors.
Cutter Boley, a quarterback for Arizona State, was named Offensive Player of the Week after recording 387 passing yards and six touchdowns in his debut. He became the first Sun Devil quarterback to throw six touchdown passes in a single game since 2004 and achieved the highest passing yardage in an ASU debut. Cam Cook, a running back for West Virginia, also received Offensive Player of the Week honors after rushing for 142 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Coastal Carolina.
Defensive Player of the Week honors went to Colorado defensive lineman Lamont Lester Jr. and Iowa State defensive end Isaac Terrell. Lester Jr. recorded three sacks during Colorado's 14-13 win over Georgia Tech. Terrell also recorded three sacks in Iowa State's 38-10 victory over Southeast Missouri State, tying for the third most in program history.
Special Teams Player of the Week awards were given to Colorado's Boo Carter and BYU's Cannon DeVries. Carter blocked a field goal and recovered a fumble during Colorado's win against Georgia Tech. DeVries, a sophomore for No. 14 BYU, recorded a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and two punt returns for 73 yards in a win over Utah Tech.
Legend Glasker, a freshman for BYU, was named Freshman of the Week after recording two touchdown receptions and a rushing touchdown in his collegiate debut. The Lehi, Utah native became the first BYU freshman to record three or more scores in a game since 2012.
Cincinnati's offensive line was named Offensive Line of the Week following a 34-15 win over Boston College. The unit helped the team record 254 rushing yards. The Colorado defensive line was named Defensive Line of the Week after holding Georgia Tech to 51 rushing yards.
The awards recognized standout performances from the first week of the 2026 season, highlighting both veteran contributions and notable collegiate debuts.
