A new wildfire known as the Harley Fire has ignited in Box Elder County, according to a report published August 21. The blaze is estimated to cover more than 75 acres and is burning north of Tremonton and west of Garland along I-15.
Hot, dry, and gusty weather conditions are contributing to the rapid spread of the fire. The blaze is threatening structures and critical infrastructure, including roadways, water systems, and power lines. Multiple resources are currently responding to the scene.
Officials advised the public to avoid the area to allow firefighters access. Residents should follow all instructions from local officials and evacuate immediately if directed to do so.
