The Urban Arts Gallery accepted ongoing applications for artists and craftspeople interested in selling products in the Urban Arts Gallery boutique, Dreamscapes Boutique, and monthly exhibitions. The gallery sought items of all styles and media, including paintings, prints, stickers, t-shirts, jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, and pins.
Submissions were juried twice per year, once in early June and once in early December. Accepted artists were invited to move artwork into the gallery on July 15 and January 15 respectively. Applications were free for all applicants.
The Freak Show exhibition was scheduled to run from September 29th to November 1st, 2026, with a Gallery Stroll and Artist Reception held on October 16th from 6-9 pm. This exhibition focused on the unusual, the creepy, the grotesque, and the fantastical. The deadline to submit was August 31st, 2026, and artists were notified by September 5th, 2026.
The Femme exhibition was scheduled to run from November 3rd to November 29th, 2026, with a free Gallery Reception on November 20th from 6-9 pm. This show explored femininity as a force through themes such as autonomy, desire, and power. The submission deadline was September 30th, 2026, with notification by October 5th, 2026.
The Creepy Crawlies exhibition was scheduled to run from January 5th to January 31st, 2027, with a free Gallery Reception on January 15th from 6-9 pm. This exhibition focused on insects, arachnids, and other small creatures. The deadline to submit was November 30th, 2026, and artists were notified by December 5th, 2026.
The gallery also sought artists in Salt Lake City and Utah to create interactive art for the space. This provided an opportunity for individuals to contribute to a local nonprofit and connect with the local artist community.
