Bountiful Elementary students are returning from spring break to begin Purple Up Week and the One Book, One Bountiful program. This year's selection for the reading program is Duke by Kirby Larson, a book chosen for its themes of courage and bravery.

Principal Pickett noted that the book provides a connection to Purple Up Week by helping to honor students who have family members serving in the military.
As part of the return from break, the school is reviewing P.A.W.S. expectations, which include practicing kindness, acting responsibly, showing respect, and working and playing safely.
Reviewing School Behavioral Expectations
On Tuesday, April 7, the school community is invited to wear purple for Purple Up Day. The event recognizes April as the Month of the Military Child and serves as a way to support military-connected students and families.
The school has also announced Literacy Night scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, from 5:30pm to 7:45pm. The event is open to families from Davis and neighboring counties and requires no registration. Families can access dinner, literacy workshops, childcare, free books, and prizes.

Regarding the upcoming testing season, teachers will communicate specific dates to students. School officials emphasized the importance of students arriving on time, well-rested, and having eaten breakfast to support concentration and performance.
Important Student Safety Reminders
Bountiful Elementary reminded parents that for safety purposes, students should go directly home after dismissal unless attending a supervised activity. Students may only use the playground after school when a responsible adult is present to provide active supervision.
