Three Region 9 high school football teams secured victories during the first week of region play. Snow Canyon, Pine View, and Crimson Cliffs each earned wins in their respective matchups.
Snow Canyon defeated Desert Hills 27-15 to snap a three-game losing streak against the Thunder. Snow Canyon quarterback Parker Olson connected with Cam Hill for a 57-yard touchdown pass, and Ammon Allred contributed a 23-yard field goal. The Warriors also saw a 22-yard interception return for a touchdown by Trey Vaughn. Snow Canyon coach Mike Esplin noted that the team's effort was good and mentioned that some younger players had to step up following a previous shutout loss to Woods Cross.
Pine View defeated Dixie 42-14 in a crosstown rivalry game. Senior Brock Harris recorded five touchdown receptions from quarterback Levi Shaw, including scores of 15, 56, 62, 27, and 29 yards. Shaw completed 17 of 27 passes for 332 yards. According to Utah football historian George Felts, this game marked the 54th meeting between the two St. George schools, bringing the Panthers' series advantage to 29-25.
Crimson Cliffs secured a 21-16 victory against Hurricane. The Mustangs held leads of 7-3 at halftime and 14-3 after three quarters. Tanoai Andresen and Jaxson Holt combined for two touchdowns to help secure the win on the road.
Following these games, Crimson Cliffs, Pine View, and Snow Canyon all hold 1-0 region records. Hurricane, Dixie, and Desert Hills each hold a 0-1 region record.
