Diamond Valley Elementary has announced its administrative and office staff, featuring new principal Travis Wilstead. Wilstead joins the school with a professional background that includes serving as principal at Hurricane Elementary and opening Majestic Fields Elementary.
Wilstead previously served as the coordinator for Dual Language Immersion and World Language programs at the district office level. His experience includes implementing Professional Learning Communities and leading schools to earn STEM endorsements.
The school's administrative team also includes Learning Coach Yvonne Fordham, who has experience as a Reading Interventionist and teacher in dual immersion programs. The staff is supported by Counselor Geoffrey Mortensen, who holds a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Liberty University.
Other key support roles include Prentiss Bowler as Reading Interventionist, Christa Kirkland as Registrar and Lunch Secretary, and Sari Jones as Finance Secretary. The health and wellness team consists of Nurse Jill Hansen and Health Aide Shaunna Lee.
The faculty at Diamond Valley Elementary possesses over 100 years of combined teaching experience. Many educators hold advanced endorsements in areas such as Gifted and Talented, Reading, Math, or ESL to support the school's focus on STEM and Spanish Dual Language Immersion.
