AeroVironment (AV), a leader in autonomous and intelligent multi-domain systems, will expand its operations into West Valley City. The company plans to create approximately 500 new high-tech jobs and invest $42.3 million in Utah over the next five years.
The expansion project, known as Project Bold Horizon, follows collaboration between EDC
Utah, the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO), CBRE, West Valley City, and Salt Lake County.

Utah, stated that the expansion will bring high-quality jobs to the region and solidify Westly Valley City's position as a hub for cutting-edge industries.
The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity assisted the project by approving AeroVironment for Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (EDTIF). Ryan Starks, executive director of the GOEO, noted that strategic investments like this create jobs and reinforce Utah's leadership in aerospace and defense.
Sydney August, director of CBRE, who represented AV during the site selection process, said the workforce and economic environment in West Valley City and Utah provided a great fit for the project.
AeroVironment provides technology solutions for defense, government, and commercial customers, specializing in robotics, sensors, artificial intelligence, and uncrewed aircraft systems.
Wahid Nawabi, AV chairman, president, and chief executive officer, said the new facility represents a critical step in expanding manufacturing capacity to ensure technological superiority.
