Intermountain Healthcare has announced upcoming Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery seminars designed to educate individuals about different weight loss procedures. The sessions cover topics such as the Gastric Sleeve, Gastric Bypass (Roux en Y), Duodenal Switch, and Lap Band Removal.
These informational seminars are described as the first required step for patients beginning a surgical weight loss journey. Attendees can learn more about the risks, benefits, and expectations associated with these procedures.
The seminars are available at various locations to accommodate different needs. Participants are asked to register for the specific session where they plan to undergo their surgery.
Available locations for these sessions include Sevier Hospital in Richfield, Utah, and St. George Regional Hospital (SGRH). Other available sites include LDS Hospital, St. Mary's Regional Hospital, Utah Valley Hospital (UVH), Cassia Hospital in Burley, ID, and online options are also available.
Intermountain Healthcare currently maintains three accredited centers of excellence through the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), with two additional centers currently pending accreditation.
