Maeser Prep has announced several updates for the 2026-27 school year, including changes to the cell phone policy, new uniform logo timelines, and upcoming back-to-school events. The school is preparing for the first day of classes on Monday, August 17.
The school will host Meet The Teachers Night on Thursday, August 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., allowing families to meet teachers and tour the new Fine Arts Auditorium addition. New students and their parents are invited to an orientation on Friday, August 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Students should wear Standard Dress uniforms for this event.
Regarding school policy, Dean of Students Mr. Simmons has shared updates concerning cell phone use. Starting in the 2026-27 school year, personal electronic devices are not permitted during classroom hours. Students must turn off their phones and place them in classroom holders. Access to phones is permitted before school, during passing periods, lunch, and after school. Repeated violations of this policy can lead to consequences ranging from parent notification to expulsionary hearings.
Additionally, the school is implementing a phased transition for its new school logo on uniforms. Middle school uniforms must feature the new logo by the start of the 2027-28 school year, while high school uniforms must transition by the beginning of the 2029-30 school year. To assist with this transition, Maeser Prep is offering $50 digital gift codes from School Uniforms by Tommy Hilfiger, which can be requested by emailing uniforms@maeserprep.org.
Friday schedules have been adjusted to follow an A/B format for remediation and reteaching. On A-day Fridays, classes will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. covering periods 1, 3, 5, and 7. On B-day Fridays, classes will cover periods 2, 4, 6, and 8 during the same timeframe.
Athletic updates include middle school boys soccer tryouts scheduled for August 20 and 21. Students participating in sports must have a physical on file. For academic eligibility in the first term, 7th through 12th graders must have earned a 2.7 GPA with no Fs or NGs based on their 4th term grades.
Maeser Prep reminds families to update their contact information and opt-in for school text messages via the SchoolMessenger system to ensure they receive emergency notifications. The school summer front office hours are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, from August 10-14.
