The Utah Transit Authority and Salt Lake County Arts & Culture are partnering to make a night out at the theater seamless from start to finish through a new program. As of August 1, 2026, ArtTix event tickets now serve as both admission to a show and a UTA transit pass on the day of the event.
Visitors to venues including Abravanel Hall, Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre, George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater, Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center, or the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center can use public transit to avoid traffic and parking hassles.
Mayor Jenny Wilson stated that the partnership with UTA makes it easier to get to performances by eliminating the stress and expense of downtown parking so patrons can focus on the experience.
UTA Executive Director Jay Fox said that strong transit systems and thriving arts communities go hand in hand and expressed pride in partnering with Salt Lake County Arts & Culture to help more people access these venues.
To use the service, riders simply show their same-day ArtTix digital or paper ticket to any bus driver or train host. The Ticket-as-Fare program is valid on any TRAX or FrontRunner train, buses, UTA On Demand, and the S-Line streetcar.
