Grubhub became the takeout ordering system for on-campus dining at the University of Utah starting in the spring semester of 2026. The platform provides a mobile ordering experience for students, faculty, and staff to order food from campus locations.
Sean Grube, associate vice president for Housing and Dining Programs, stated that the priority is student, faculty, and staff satisfaction through the best possible service. He noted that the partnership with Grubhub was intended to make mobile ordering quick and easy using an app many users already possess.
Previously, users at the University of Utah were required to download a specific app to order food from Dining Services. With the new system, users can order from locations such as Panda Express or Cupbop and pay via the Grubhub app using credit cards, debit cards, or dining plans.
To use the service, users must download the Grubhub app and log in. In the account settings, users select Campus Dining and search for the University of Utah. To pay with a UCard, users must connect the University of Utah in their settings, select Add new payment, and log in with CIS credentials.
A promo code, FIRSTBITE50, was offered to provide 50% off a first on-campus pickup order, with a maximum discount of $7. This promotion also included a free Grubhub+ membership for unlimited $0 delivery fees on eligible orders meeting a minimum subtotal.
