Weber State University has released the schedule for the Fall 2026 International Student Orientation. The university has designated certain activities as mandatory for all new students to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming semester.
The orientation includes several mandatory sessions for new students. These include an orientation session on August 18 focused on campus resources and international student insurance, and a second session on August 20 covering immigration and campus safety education. Additionally, new students are required to attend various mandatory orientation activities on August 18 and August 20.
Academic preparation is a central component of the orientation period. Students may take Math and English placement tests on August 19 to determine if they can enroll in higher-level classes. According to university guidelines, degree-seeking international students require ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer scores for English placement, while Math placement requires ACT, SAT, or ALEKS scores. Without these scores, students may be placed into ENGL 0900 or MATH 0950.
Other scheduled activities include airport pickups from Salt Lake City Airport or nearby hotels to Ogden on August 17. Social and community events include a welcome dinner, a hiking trip on the WSU Discovery Loop, and a trip to the Ogden Farmers Market.
New students are advised to complete several checklist items upon arrival, such as obtaining a Wildcat Card student ID and a UTA pass. Students transferring from other U.S. institutions must ensure their SEVIS record is transferred to Weber State University before classes begin. During mandatory orientation sessions, students must bring digital copies of their passport, visa, and I-20 or DS-2019 documents for online check-in.
