The shutdown includes an extension to include Maxfield Drive to Rainbow Gardens. Officials stated that hydrants in the affected area will be impacted by the outage.
There is currently no estimated time for service restoration. Water crews will flush lines in the area once the emergency repairs are finished.
Residents in the affected area may experience discolored water. Officials recommend running a cold water faucet in a bathtub until the water clears to help flush home water lines.
It is recommended that residents do not use hot water or wash light-colored laundry until the water runs clear. Residents should notify the city if discolored water persists after crews have completed repairs.
