An emergency water shutdown was issued for Liberty Avenue between 550 N and 675 N because a pipeline required immediate repair, according to a notice on the Ogden city website.
The shutdown affected hydrants in the area and included an estimated service restoration time of 11:30 PM on August 29, 2026.
Residents in the affected area could experience discolored water as a result of the shutdown. Officials recommended running a cold water faucet in a bathtub until the water clears to help flush home water lines.
It was recommended that residents avoid using hot water or washing light colored laundry until the water runs clear. Once emergency repairs are complete, water crews will flush lines in the area. Residents were asked to notify the city if discolored water continues.
