The Wendover City Council will hold a regular council meeting on Oct. 7, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., according to a September 29 notice. The meeting, located at 920 East Wendover Blvd., will address several municipal decisions and department updates.
The agenda includes several items requiring decisions, such as the approval or amendment of the September 2, 2026, meeting minutes. Council members will also consider a conditional use permit for Lalo, provided it follows city rules, and a request to replace a dumpster with a residential can at Burdel Draper's retired business. Additionally, the council will vote on business license applications, specifically for the 661 Toana Street Trust involving Terry and Ariel Powell, and a proposal from Sunrise Engineering to provide professional building inspection services for the City of Wendover.
Departmental updates will feature Michael Connin for the Police Department and Waylan Nelson for the Fire Department. Specific fire department items include a discussion on the fee schedule for inspections of businesses, an interlocal cooperation agreement between Tooele County and the City of Wendover for independent fire inspection services, and the approval and execution of the Wendover Fire Chief contract. Other discussions involve updates on Sacred Circle Health Care from Josh Anderson and various matters from City Administrator Glenn Wadsworth and City Attorney Spencer Call. Topics for the attorney include an agreement between Wendover and the Tooele County Dept. of Airports, an update on the Airbnb ordinance, and an amendment to the annual vacation leave policy to prevent the accumulation of more than 200 hours of leave.
Mayor Adam Palafox will provide updates regarding hiring UCI Scanning out of Salt Lake City to begin electronic scanning of ordinance books, resolutions, and minutes/agendas. Other mayoral discussion items include a Christmas dinner, the 40-hour rule, and coats for Public Works. The council will also discuss establishing a memorial fund for Needlepoint Garden Cemetery and address community building and cemetery fees, both presented by Radine Murphy. Furthermore, the council will consider approving and entering into an amended and restated agreement creating the Utah Local Governments Trust.
The meeting will include a two-minute limit for comments from the audience. The next scheduled council meeting is set for Nov. 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
