Nibley City is hosting the Scarecrow Fun Run on Sept. 19, 2026, according to a Sept. 18 announcement. This family fitness event includes free runs for children and various distance options including a 5K, 10K, and a 10K relay.
The event features free runs for children, including a 100-yard dash for those aged 4 and under, a 1/4 mile run for children 8 and under, and a 1/2 mile run for children 12 and under. All runners aged 12 and under receive a 1 mile run/walk. The 5K and 10K races are scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. respectively.
Participants in the 5K and 10K may encounter scarecrows along the course designed to startle runners. The event offers creative categories such as a Funnest Pair award and a Stroller Racer category. A prize is also available for the largest family participating in the event. The 10K Relay option involves a shuttle or vehicle transport between Heritage Park and an exchange point on 640 West 3700 South.
The race takes place at Heritage Park, located at 2456 S 800 W, Nibley, UT 84321. Packet pick up and day-of registration are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. at the park. While dogs are common in other Nibley City events, they are not allowed in the Scarecrow Fun Run due to the nature of the scarecrow startle experience.
