Strata Networks has been awarded the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) Smart Rural Community (SRC) Showcase Award for its work advancing education in the Uintah Basin, according to a September 18 statement. The award recognizes rural broadband providers that utilize advanced networks to strengthen communities and improve quality of life.
The award highlights Strata's initiatives involving broadband connectivity, scholarships, workforce development, and partnerships with local educational institutions. A key initiative noted by the NTCA was the partnership between Strata and Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) to create IT, networking, and cybersecurity training programs. Established in 2018, this partnership aims to create career pathways in the Uintah Basin and build a workforce pipeline for long-term economic growth.
Strata Networks CEO/General Manager Bruce Todd accepted the award during the NTCA Fall Conference. Todd stated that the recognition validates the company's efforts to connect students with educational and career opportunities designed for a technology-driven world.
NTCA CEO Mark Romano noted during the award ceremony that SRC Showcase Award recipients are providers that demonstrate how to connect and serve rural America through innovation and heart. Strata has been a member of the Smart Rural Community program for several years.
