Junior high students from the Ogden, Davis, and Weber school districts participated in the Aerospace & Defense Career Discovery Day at the Ogden-Hinckley Airport, according to an October 28 statement. The event was hosted by Wasatch Front North and aimed to connect students with leaders in the aerospace and defense industries.
The interactive event was designed to move beyond traditional job fair models by providing hands-on learning, flight line experiences, and direct professional networking. Students participated in live demonstrations and interactive booths to bridge the gap between classroom curriculum and real-world career applications.
Ogden City Mayor Ben Nadolski delivered a keynote address during the event. He spoke to the students regarding the importance of education and encouraged them to pursue careers within the aerospace sector.
Local businesses and defense organizations hosted sessions to answer career questions and provide guidance on industry opportunities, certifications, and CTE tracks. Participating industry partners included Richard Manufacturing Company, Mountain Pacific Consulting Group, Apogee Worx, Uplift Aerospace, JD Machine, Kihomac Industries, Paramount Machine, Bechtel – GIS Team, Hill Air Force Base (Ogden Air Logistics & Composites/Low Observables), Cornerstone Aviation, and 9
Line LLC.
The Aerospace & Defense Career Discovery Day aims to help students discover, experience, and be inspired by regional industry leaders to foster the next generation of innovators in Utah.
