The Town of Independence scheduled a Town Council meeting for September 2, 2026, according to a notice posted August 31. The meeting was set to begin at 7:00 PM at the Music Room located at 465 E 1200 S in Heber City, Utah.
The agenda for the meeting included the potential adoption of council meeting minutes from August 19, 2026. Council members were also scheduled to discuss a town disincorporation update, road updates, development updates, and the installation of Sheriff's Department cameras in Independence.
Additional agenda items included interviews for council candidates William Hansen and Jerry Hunsaker, a possible appointment of a new councilmember, and a closed session for personnel matters.
The notice stated that one or more members of the Independence Town Council may participate electronically or telephonically.
