An emergency water shutdown was announced for Liberty Ave. between Canfield Dr. and 1225 N. because a pipeline required immediate repair, according to a notice on the city's website.
The shutdown affected hydrants in the area. Officials noted that residents might experience discolored water as a result of the shutdown. In such instances, it was recommended to run the cold water faucet in a bathtub until the water clears to help flush home water lines. Residents were advised not to use hot water or wash light-colored laundry until the water runs clear.
Water crews were expected to flush lines in the area once the emergency repairs were completed. The city requested that residents notify them if water discoloration persists.
