Nebo School District is advising users to separate their personal email accounts from their Nebo accounts. The district recommends that users utilize their Nebo accounts primarily for work purposes.
The Nebo account is part of Google Apps for Education, a suite of productivity tools hosted by Google. The district provides several reasons for recommending a separate personal email account.
According to the district, Nebo accounts, including email, calendars, and documents, will be deleted shortly after an individual leaves the Nebo School District. Additionally, district policy dictates that emails are automatically deleted from the system once they reach seven years of age.
Because messages within the account belong to a government entity, they may be accessible to the general public through GRAMA requests.
The district also provides access to a Slack Workspace and a Support Portal. Through the support portal, a district IT specialist may be allowed to remote control a computer.
