Residents of Beaver whose gas meters were removed following flood damage must complete several safety requirements before natural gas service can be restored.
According to a notice from the city, specific inspections and repairs are mandatory to ensure the safety of households following flood-related damage.
To restore service, a licensed professional must conduct a pressure test of the home's gas piping system.
Additionally, all gas lines and appliances must be inspected to confirm they are operating properly and safely. Any identified damages must be repaired or replaced before service is reinstated.
Enbridge Gas stated that they will only reinstall a gas meter after the gas system has been tested and certified as safe for operation.
This process is intended to ensure natural gas systems are operating correctly following flood damage.
