The No. 20 ranked Utah football team was scheduled to return to Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 12, to face Arkansas. The game between the Utes and the Razorbacks was set for an 8:15 p.m. MT kickoff and was scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN.
Utah head coach Morgan Scalley led the Utes in their season opener, a 66-14 victory over Idaho. Scalley, a Salt Lake City native and former Utes player, previously served as a defensive coordinator and safeties coach for the program.
Quarterback Devon Dampier recorded three touchdown passes on 18 attempts during the win over Idaho. Wayshawn Parker also contributed three total touchdowns in the game, including two receiving touchdowns.
The Utes entered the matchup having won 11 of their last 12 season openers. Historically, Utah holds a 2-7 overall record against SEC teams, though they most recently defeated Florida in 2023.
Rice-Eccles Stadium has hosted 96 consecutive sold-out contests. Over the last five-plus years, Utah has maintained a home winning percentage of .812, ranking first in the Big 12 Conference and 14th in the nation.
