Real Salt Lake announced Saturday that the club has signed defender Luc de Fougerolles on loan from English Premier League side Fulham FC, according to a September 5 report.
The 20-year-old Canadian international center back arrives on a loan that runs through the 2026 MLS season and includes an option to extend through the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.
De Fougerolles has earned 18 caps for Canada, frequently starting under head coach Jesse Marsch. During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he appeared in all five of Canada's matches as the team reached the Round of 16.
In addition to his senior appearances for Fulham, de Fougerolles played 30 times last season while on loan at the Belgian side FCV Dender EH. RSL chief soccer officer Kurt Schmid stated that de Fougerolles' arrival for the final third of the 2026 season will add to the club's back-line options. Schmid noted that his World Cup experience and time in the Fulham setup should allow him to make an immediate impact as the club pursues postseason success.
