Former Utah Jazz scout Richard Smith provided a preview of the NBA draft during a recent edition of Talkin' Sports with Adam Mikulich. Smith, who spent forty years in various roles for the Utah Jazz including serving as a collegiate and international scout, discussed the scouting process used by NBA teams.
Smith also shared his reaction to news that the Utah Jazz secured the No. 2 overall pick.
During the discussion, Smith highlighted the strengths of AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cam Boozer. These players were widely expected to be among the top three selections in the first round held on June 23.
Though now retired, Smith continues to follow the game closely and is often present at Jazz games held at the Delta Center.
