Salt Lake City is set to reconstruct Fayette Avenue between 200 West and 300 West, according to a notice on the city's website. The project, which includes full reconstruction of the asphalt roadway, is expected to begin later this fall.
Work is anticipated to take approximately four to five weeks to complete. Improvements include replacing worn pavement with new asphalt and upgrading the parking lane and concrete infrastructure on the east half of the block to match existing improvements on the west side.
As needed, the project will involve replacing sidewalks, driveway approaches, curb, and gutter. On-street parking restrictions will be in effect during the work. Residents should expect daytime construction noise, dust, and intermittent access limitations from Monday to Friday while reconstruction takes place.
New concrete infrastructure, including driveway approaches, will require a seven-day cure time.
The project may disturb landscaping and irrigation. The project team stated they will restore impacted landscaping in kind, which may include replacing grass with seed or sod or replacing flowers, bushes, or shrubs with similar species and size.
Crews will attempt to avoid irrigation lines and sprinkler heads, and the project team will coordinate repairs if irrigation infrastructure is damaged. Garbage collection is expected to continue as normal, and crews will move bins if needed.
