Fredrick "Rick" William Wright, 54, of Vernal, passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident in Duchesne County on August 28, 2026, according to an obituary published August 31 by Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
Born February 26, 1972, in Provo, Utah, Wright grew up in American Fork. He was a graduate of American Fork High School, an Eagle Scout, and served an honorable mission in the Argentina Salta Mission.
Wright worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at North Eastern Counseling. He was noted for his ability to speak Spanish, which allowed him to serve a broader portion of his community.
Wright is survived by his daughters, Anya and Stephanie; granddaughters, Olivia and Marie; parents, Lewis and Lynne; and siblings, Jonathan, Becky, Gerilee, and Cami. He was predeceased by his wife, Heather, and his son, Jackson.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Vernal Stake Center at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Vernal Memorial Park.
