The 2026–27 Battle of the Books reading lists for elementary students are now available, according to a September 16 report from Spring Creek.
The program involves students reading selected books and working in teams to answer questions about them during friendly competitions known as battles.
The Battle of the Books program is designed to help students strengthen reading comprehension and practice teamwork while discovering new books and authors.
Students interested in participating are encouraged to contact their school librarian or media specialist for information regarding program involvement and mechanics.
The third and fourth grade reading list includes titles such as The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate, Freckle Juice by Judy Blume, and Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White.
Other listed books for these grades include Frindle by Andrew Clements, The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies, and I Survived the Great Molasses Flood, 1919 by Lauren Tarshis.
