Weber State women's soccer secured the outright Big Sky regular-season championship with a 9-1 victory over Idaho State on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, at Wildcat Soccer Field in Ogden. The win earns the Wildcats the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament and the rights to host the 2027 tournament.
The victory marked a record-setting performance for the program. Weber State's nine goals against a Division I opponent tie the program record set in 2001 against Youngstown State. The performance also established a new school record for most goals scored against a Big Sky opponent.
Lily Blum, the Big Sky golden boot winner, scored twice within the first six minutes after halftime to extend the lead to 4-1. Her 14 goals this season have surpassed the previous Weber State single-season record of 11 set by Rochelle Hoover in 2005. Blum's total also places her in the top five for single-season goal scorers in Big Sky history.
The match saw several significant individual performances. Simone Packer scored twice, including a one-timer in the 20th minute that gave Weber State a 2-1 halftime lead. Oakley Anderson recorded a hat trick with goals in the 59th and 64th minutes, tying the program record for most goals in a single game. Cici Garcia also scored twice, with goals in the 65th and 84th minutes, to complete the 9-1 rout.
This championship is the first for Weber State soccer since 2018. The 2026 team has scored 39 total goals, tying for third in program history. Under head coach Kyle Christensen, the Wildcats have remained highly productive, following a 2025 squad that finished with 35 goals.
Weber State and Northern Colorado, the top two seeds, will receive a bye through the first round of the tournament on Nov. 11. Weber State is scheduled to face the winner of the No. 4 Idaho and No. 5 Utah Tech matchup at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in Missoula, Montana. The Big Sky championship match is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15.
