Key takeaways

  • Academic performance showed widespread growth, specifically in Acadience Reading/Math, NWEA high achievement quadrants, and increases in RISE ELA (8%), Science (13%), and Math (9%) scores.
  • The council focused on maintaining growth for students already at proficiency, which resulted in higher achievement levels across the board.
  • Discussion was held regarding the Kindergarten Round-up attendance and the need for better marketing to inform parents that school closure is no longer being considered.
  • Upcoming SCC member transitions include Shane Wright, Kate Patterson, and Wenjing Li staying on the council, while Rachel Husberg, Melvin Rodriguez, and Ian Miller are finishing their terms.
  • Nominations for the next council period begin August 5th, with elections scheduled for August 17-19 if necessary.
  • Discussions regarding school boundaries have been tabled for a later date.
