There is a lot of school left after the school day ends.
Last spring, Timpview High School education support professional Isaac Clark was recognized with the Provo Way Award for the work that happens after classrooms empty, events begin, and the nightly custodial crew takes over. Timpview Head Custodian Jessy Nielsen nominated Isaac after watching him reshape the way that crew works together.
The scale alone is considerable. Isaac helps lead a crew responsible for more than 112 classrooms and 49 offices in a building that can operate for as many as 18 hours in a day. Nightly events keep the building moving, and the custodial workload can include removing as much as two tons of trash in a single day.
Still, Nielsen’s description of Isaac is less about the numbers than what has happened around them.
“In a short time, Isaac has streamlined our nightly operations while building a positive, team-focused work environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work,” Nielsen said.
That combination earned Isaac recognition from the Board of Education as a Timpview ESP during its April 2026 Provo Way Awards.
The Provo Way Award gives Provo City School District and its Board of Education an opportunity to recognize people whose everyday work makes a meaningful difference in district schools. Past recipients have been honored not simply for performing a job well, but for what their work adds to the people and places around them.
For Isaac, that meant a cleaner, more efficient building and a crew that felt more like a team.
