The Cedar City Planning Commission scheduled a public hearing for September 15, 2026, to review multiple zoning and general plan amendments, according to a September 4 notice.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. at the Cedar City Council Chambers, located at 10 N. Main Street in Cedar City. During the hearing, officials will allow time for public comments regarding several items.
Agenda items include a zone change and a general plan amendment for property at 226 North 3325 West. The proposed changes involve transitioning the property from I&M-2 to I&M-1 industrial and manufacturing zoning, and amending the general plan from Central Commercial to Business and Light Manufacturing.
Additional agenda items include several zone changes for properties located north of South Mountain Drive between Westview Drive and 3500 West. These considerations involve transitioning land from Annex Transition (AT) to various residential designations, including R1, R2-1, R2-2, and R3-M.
Another proposed change involves the southeast corner of South Mountain Drive and Westview Drive (Parcel No. B-1842-0002-0000), which would transition from Annex Transition to Central Commercial. The eastern 900 feet of that same parcel is also under consideration for a transition from Annex Transition to R3-M Dwelling Multiple Unit.
The Cedar City Corporation stated that it does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, or disability in employment or the provision of services. Individuals requiring assistance to participate in the meeting due to a disability should notify the city no later than the day before the meeting.
