Week of: April 27th – May 1st

It’s hard to believe we’re in the final stretch of the school year. Somehow the days feel long, but the weeks are flying by!

School Musical Performance

We’re excited to invite our Amelia community to a special event you won’t want to miss. Our school play, Matilda! Our talented students have been working incredibly hard to bring this story to life, and we are so proud of their dedication and creativity. Performances will be held on May 4th and May 5th at 6:00 p.m. We hope you’ll join us for an evening of fun, laughter, and celebration of our students’ hard work.

Bring your favorite book to school!

PTA is also partnering with our school to encourage a love of reading. We are asking students to bring their favorite book on Friday, May 1st and Friday, May 8th. Students will have the opportunity to take a picture with their favorite book and share why they love it, with the goal of inspiring others to pick up a good book!

PCSD School Closure Discussion

I also want to strongly encourage our community to attend an important meeting on May 14th from 6:00–7:30 p.m. here at Amelia Gymnasium. This meeting will focus on the possibility of our school closing due to declining enrollment. Your voice, your presence, and your perspective truly matter in this conversation. I hope to see a strong showing from our Amelia families as we come together to stay informed and engaged.
