The BYU-Idaho Nursing Program has implemented a change to its admission criteria, removing the requirement for the Pre-Admission A2 HESI exam. This change became effective starting February 16, 2026.
The department provides different paths for students interested in community health. The Nursing program offers a Pre-licensure Bachelor of Science degree designed to provide introductory knowledge for becoming a registered nurse after graduation.
The Public Health department offers two distinct Bachelor of Science tracks. One track focuses on Health Promotion, which teaches individuals how to make better health decisions and live well. The other track focuses on Health Science, which involves applying scientific principles to understand healthcare systems, illness, and health.
Regarding the recent changes to the nursing admission process, the department stated that no refunds will be provided for students who have already taken or purchased an exam for future cohort admission into the program.
