The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released 10 new songs to its 'Hymns—For Home and Church' collection Thursday, continuing a phased rollout of music designed with simple, Christ-centered truths for members in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
New Christ-Centered Hymns
The latest batch of music includes titles such as 'Peace, Peace, Be Still,' 'Great Is Thy Faithfulness,' 'Isaiah Said,' 'Fight the Good Fight,' 'It’s Joyful to Live the Gospel,' 'To God Be the Glory,' 'Speak to Us, Lord,' 'The Miracle,' 'What God Calls Us To,' and 'When I Survey the Wondrous Cross.' These songs are made available through the Gospel Library, the online Music Library, and the Sacred Music app.
Expanding Global Music Collection
With this latest addition, the 'Hymnals—For Home and Church' collection now contains 82 songs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. The release follows a previous much larger update in June 2025, which added 11 hymns to the same language group, bringing that specific count to 48 at that time.
A Multiyear Revision Project
The Church is conducting a major revision of both its hymnbook and Children’s Songbook to meet the needs of a global membership. This multiyear project, announced in June 2018, aims to resolve issues including doctrinal inaccuracies, culturally insensitive language, and inconsistent music offerings across different languages. The final list of hymns for the collection has been approved by the First Presidency.
Phased Global Rollout
The rollout strategy involves releasing small batches of music every few months. While the primary languages are receiving frequent updates, other languages are also seeing progress. Specifically, 22 hymns have been released in Armenian and Malagasy, while nine songs have been provided for Cebuano, Indonesian, Italian, Samoan, and Tongan. Additionally, 12 hymns have been released in German, Korean, and Tagalog.
Future Release Timeline
The full print and digital release of the complete 'Hymns for Home and Church'—which is expected to contain approximately 375 hymns and children’s songs—is anticipated in mid-2027 for English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and American Sign Language. The church plans to release the collection in many additional languages in the years following.
Digital Tools for Worship
Church leaders and music coordinators are encouraging members to use these new resources for both personal study and congregational worship. Digital tools have been updated to include interactive sheet music, piano and guitar accompaniments, and vocal recordings, including versions with children's voices to help younger members learn the melodies.
