Corina Nelson has been named the new General Manager of the Salt Lake Bees, becoming the first woman to hold the position under Miller Sports + Entertainment ownership. Nelson, who currently serves as the organization's vice president of baseball operations, will maintain her existing responsibilities while assuming the new leadership role.
Leadership Transition and Succession
Nelson succeeds Ty Wardle in the General Manager role. Wardle will continue his tenure with Miller Sports + Entertainment as executive vice president, while also serving as the chief revenue officer. In that capacity, Wardle will maintain executive oversight of the Bees and lead revenue and partnership strategy across all platform businesses for the organization.
Nelson is the third individual to hold the General Manager position since Larry H. Miller purchased the team in 2005. She follows Wardle, who held the role from 2024 to 2026, and Marc Amicone, who served as General Manager from 2005 until 2024.
Decades of Organizational Leadership
Nelson brings more than 20 years of leadership experience within the Larry H. Miller organization to her new position. Her career with the company began in 2005 as a team member with Mayan Restaurants.
Following her start with Mayan Restaurants, Nelson spent 17 years with Megaplex. During her time there, she advanced through several leadership roles, including supervisor, department manager, and general manager.
Nelson on Future Goals
In a statement released by Miller Sports + Entertainment, Nelson expressed her enthusiasm for the appointment. She noted that the organization has built something special both on the field and within the community.
"I am incredibly honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as the General Manager of the Salt Lake Bees," Nelson said. She added that she looks forward to working with staff, players, partners, and fans to raise the standard for the franchise.
Organizational Support
Ty Wardle, the president of the Bees, praised Nelson's appointment, citing her dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence. Wardle described Nelson as an outstanding leader who has been instrumental in the growth of the Salt Lake Bees.
"I'm excited to see her lead the club into its next chapter," Wardle said regarding the appointment.
