Provo City School District continues to use Bark for Schools to monitor school-issued accounts for signs of digital dangers. The system is designed to send notifications when potential issues such as cyberbullying, suicidal ideation, or threats of violence arise.
The district provides Bark for families, which links parents to their students so they can receive alerts. Additionally, Bark Jr is available as a free upgrade for Provo City School District parents. This specific solution works on personal devices and is not installed on District Chromebooks.
To assist with internet safety, several resources are available including NetSafeUtah, NetSmartzKids, CommonSense, and MissingKids. The district also provides links regarding ways to protect children online in both English and Spanish.
The district expressed appreciation for support as they work to keep students safe both online and in real life.
