The Provo City School District Board of Education met Tuesday to review the final budget for fiscal year 2026 and the proposed budget for fiscal year 2027, according to a board meeting agenda.
Employee agreements and negotiations
During the June 9 business meeting, the board addressed several employee-related items, including negotiated agreements with the Provo Education Association (PEA), the Provo Elementary School Professional Association (PESPA), and agreements for administrators and professional/technical employees.
Curricular materials and policy updates
The agenda also included a large purchase request for 95% group curricular materials. Additionally, the board conducted first readings for numerous policies covering topics such as drug-free workplaces, student internships, religious neutrality, and firearm safety training.
Construction updates and board training
Other items on the meeting agenda included a construction update for Timpview and a review of the Truth in Taxation tax impact schedule. The board also held training for Board Vice President Gina Hales regarding board governance.
Upcoming budget hearing and school start
The district has a budget public hearing and board business meeting scheduled for June 16. The upcoming school year is set to begin with the first day of school on August 19, 2026.
