North Salt Lake Scheduled Early Irrigation Water Shutoff

Secondary irrigation water was scheduled to be shut off for the season on September 15 in North Salt Lake. The shutoff was scheduled for approximately one month earlier than usual due to extremely dry conditions and low water supplies.

Water providers throughout the region were shortening the irrigation season to assist in the conservation of remaining reservoir supplies. Officials asked residents to plan ahead for the September 15 shutoff and to reduce outdoor watering as temperatures began to cool.

The early shutoff was expected to require an adjustment for residents. The city expressed appreciation for community efforts to conserve water and protect water resources.
