The Murray City Planning Commission approved multiple business applications during a meeting held on July 16, 2026, according to meeting minutes released August 21. The session included decisions on a major home occupation and two conditional use permits.
The commission approved a major home occupation request for Affordable Bath LLC at 203 East Mountain View Drive. The request allows a contracting business office to operate from the residential property. The approval was subject to several conditions, including requirements that all materials be located within the primary dwelling and that the business area occupies less than 25% of the main dwelling area.
A conditional use permit was granted to Flora Gardens LLC to operate a tattoo business at 4379 South State Street. The approval requires the applicant to meet landscaping requirements and obtain a Murray City business license. The commission discussed the use of a deferral agreement regarding landscaping, noting that the property owner and applicant would have six months to fulfill the requirement.
Additionally, the commission approved a conditional use permit for VDS Salt Lake City to operate a veterinary dentist office at 6045 South Fashion Boulevard. The approval included conditions requiring the applicant to obtain a business license and comply with fire, power, and building department requirements. The business must also ensure noise is adequately contained within the building and operate between 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The meeting concluded with a presentation to Commissioner Aaron Hildreth, marking his final meeting with the commission. The next meeting was scheduled for August 6, 2026.
