The City of Moab has applied to the Utah Board of Water Resources for a loan to fund the construction of a 1.5-million-gallon water storage tank, according to a September 8 notice.
Security for the loan would be provided through the sale of a non-voted revenue bond to the Board of Water Resources.
The bonds will be issued for a total of $3,000,000 and are to be repaid to the Board of Water Resources over a 15-year period at 3.72% interest. Payments are to be made from the net revenues of the water system.
In accordance with Utah Board of Water Resources policy, a 15-day public comment period is provided before the purchase of any non-voted revenue bonds. The Board is soliciting comments from water users either for or against the project.
Interested individuals are encouraged to respond in writing before September 23, 2026. All written comments received by that date will be reviewed by the Board of Water Resources before a final decision is made regarding the bond purchase.
Comments may be addressed to the City of Moab at 217 E. Center Street, Moab, UT 84532, or to the Board of Water Resources at P.O. Box 146201, Salt Lake City, UT 84114-6201.
