Murray High School scheduled a homecoming football game against East High School that was set to include a tribute to Chief of Police Craig Burnett. The event featured a joint halftime performance by the school's cheer squad, drill team, dance company, and marching band.
According to a notice from Murray High School, the game was scheduled to include a live stadium cannon. Residents living near the high school were advised that loud cannon blasts would occur between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
Tickets for the game were listed at $8 and could be purchased at the game or through the school's ticketing platform.
