The 33rd Annual Backcountry Benefit was scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Salt Lake City. The event was intended to celebrate the backcountry community and support avalanche forecasting, awareness, and education.
The event was set to take place at Black Diamond HQ, located at 2092 E 3900 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84124, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The evening was planned to include food, drinks, live music, and prizes.
Tickets included dinner by Utah Food Services, two drink tickets valued at $10, and one entry into an opportunity drawing. Pricing options included adult tickets, youth and student tickets for $30, and a 6-pack option where buyers received one free ticket when purchasing five. Children under 5 were permitted for free.
The National Ability Center was set to accept gear donations at the event for their annual fall gear drive. For attendees 21 and older, a valid state-issued photo ID or passport was required for entry, and those under 21 were required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
