Kedon Slovis, the 25-year-old undrafted rookie out of BYU back in 2024, signed with the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 1, making it his second stop in the NFL after being cut from the Arizona Cardinals.Slovis showed promise in the preseason, enough for a team to pick him up. He appeared in all three preseason games with the Arizona Cardinals.Slovis had a standout performance in the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, where Slovis slashed a 90% completion percentage, along with 106 yards and a passing touchdown.Top 3 Offensive Grades among QBs this preseason

2 Kedon Slovis 91.5

While it was a great performance, Slovis was shadowed by the 2026 third-round pick, Carson Beck, who had more passing yards and a better QB rating.Slovis finished the 2026 NFL preseason against the team that he ended up joining just weeks later, the Green Bay Packers.Slovis threw 35 passes, completing 21, while also throwing a single touchdown with two interceptions. It was not a great performance by any means with a QB rating of 64.4. But the Packers ended up picking him up.The Cardinals have a deep QB where they rostered three quarterbacks ahead of Slovis, including rookie Carson Beck, Garner Minshew and starter Jacoby Brissett.Ultimately, Slovis was competing for the 3rd spot in the depth chart against Beck, and was cut. After being cut, Slovis waited like many NFL players hoping that their preseason and training camps tell enough of the story for them to join a new team. This hope became a reality for Slovis and he was signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad.New Packers QB Kedon Slovis from practice yesterday. pic.twitter.com/elMUxHjt36— Bill Huber (@BillHuberNFL) September 2, 2026

Slovis will end up as the third quarterback on the depth chart and with a potential injury to either longtime backup Tyrod Taylor or starter Jordan Love. Overall, Slovis and his journey in football including both college and the NFL have not been smooth, bouncing from team to team. Now looks to make a home with Packers and be another BYU alumnus to make an impact in the NFL landscape.
