Parts of Millard County have been ordered to evacuate as the Widemouth 2 Wildfire continues to spread south of Kanosh. Utah Fire Officials say the fire has grown rapidly due to gusty winds and has exploded to over four-thousand acres burned with zero percent containment.
The Millard County Sheriff’s Office issued a GO evacuation order for the area of Turkey Track Lane and Cemetery Road.
Areas from 300 South to Highway 91 are advised to pack essential items and be ready to evacuate.
Areas from 300 South north for the rest of Kanosh remain under a READY status and have been advised to stay prepared.
Officials believe lightning ignited the fire after a thunderstorm moved through the area on Tuesday evening.
